Big Day Out Update

Well literelly in a couple hours will make my way to the Big day Out 2007. Heres an update on the house progress. As we speak, the SA Plasterboard crew are on the site doing the gyprock. Roofing was complete last friday 27 and paid for. The insulation batts and gyprock was delivered this week on the days of 30 and 31. On the 1st the insulation was installed into all the external walls and then on Thursday 1 February the gyprock commenced, albeit slowly. Not even one room is complete at this stage and just the ceiling and a few walls. Also, the steel that we placed at the back of the block is gone now, so I suspect someone in the hood has helped themselves.

After gyprocking will be lockup and at that stage I can enquire about a handover date.

Quick up to date Rundown

Okay first post and a quick rundown of the process up until now.

Back in October 2006 the slabs were poured on both units and left to cure for a few weeks.

26 October saw the commencement of the Frame stage and this was completed on 13 November for both blocks.

Bricking stage commenced on December 6 and completed by end of year. The roofing commenced on the 18 January and still being completed as of today.

In other matters, the water meters were stolen in the new year of January , week of 9.


Curently Tiles have been ordered, but this is a bit of drama because the tile company seems a bit dodgy and we'd like to get out tiles delivered a bit earlier to get our despost and tiles out before they do a runner. They are nice tiles however, 500 by 500 in a gloss marble, very nice.

Looking at carpets, seems like just under 2000 with underlay
